10 years from now

The interview process was interesting to say the least. I found that people's answers varied from different age groups.18-25 year olds generally answered that they saw them selfs in a stable job in their desired profession. 26-35 year olds generally answered that they wanted to either start a family or have more children. People in the 45 and up category generally wanted to be retired and spending time with family.

We had a lot of great footage, had we used it all the feel of the video would be much different. Giving the full explication for the answers we received would have given further incite to the people's response. Having the video be a minute 30 seconds makes it more interesting and dynamic. We placed the clips we felt would contribute the most to our video.

During the interview process, my group mates and I alternated jobs. We changed "shifts" with every interview, and we all had input on the editing process. I think that overall my group functioned really well together. We were able to schedule a date and time to meet and get stuff done. We were all on the same page when it came to making decisions and we were in communication through the different phases of the project.

Gifted

This video is incredible, one of the best I've seen in a while. It is by N.A.S.A featuring Kanye West, Santigold, and Lykke Li. It's so fresh in fact that it's where The Bravery got the concept for their video "slow poison".

I have been playing around with widgets. I been adding and removing them, the most noted being the Super Mario game i added to my blog.

Albums I cant stop listening to

time based media

As technology advances things get smaller and smaller and capable of holding increasingly larger amounts of memory. In 20 years time technology has drastically evolved. Due to its rapid growth it has progressively become more and more embedded in our everyday lives.

Time based media is made to make our lives easier, whether it is by cutting down on the time it takes look something up, do research, or to just entertain your self. Time based media allows us to go places and experience new things in a matter of seconds. When something is broken or or I don't know how to do something I just look it up on Google or YouTube and i get instant step by step instructions on how to do or fix it.

The down side of time based media is that we as humans are losing basic skills like writing and memory. Our personal devices are making those functions obsolete. However, this is notthing new. Throughout the evolution of mankind we have gained new abilities and in doing so lost many others.

When I'm doing homework online it is very easy to get distracted (I'm on Facebook, watching Paranormal State, and texting as I write this post) I try to combat distractions but more often then none I give in. To create a focused environment I sit on my bed and listen to music, that seems to help me concentrate.

Decisions Decisions

Like i mentioned before I have now changed to color scheme. I tested an array of of colors, but I think that maroon fits in the best. I have also tired to expand the post column but it looks awkward. I stretched the header to even it out but it still looked strange because i took out side column. To balance it out i decided to bring back the side column. I like how it turned out.

Update

I once again changed my header. I like this one better than the previous one. Now that i changed the picture I think I have to change the color scheme of my blog.

Yeah

Social Networks

Social Networks differ from site to site but they all share one very obvious thing in common, they are social networks. Physical social networks and virtual social networks share many similarities but they also have many differences. the main difference being that with one you can actually physically touch the people you are interacting with. The similarities being that you can interact with family, friends, and co-workers in real time.

The pro's of social networks are that you can interact and stay in contact with people in real time no matter where they are, be it around the world or across the street.

The con's of social networks are that some people use them with the intent to harm other people. And is it really necessary to know what people are doing at all time?

Personally I think that social networks are a good way to interact with friends when they are not in close proximity. I certainty don't think that they are evil.

It depends on the information you provide, the material you post, and the people you friend that can ultimately bring you harm. So just be weary of the content you post, and always use common sense

Possibilities...

I have one again changed my blog. I decided to go with a custom header. I uploaded an image that I altered in color and size. I have also played around with the color of the blog. I have been constantly changing the color and layout of my blot throughout the week. The final color scheme I decided upon, consist of my two favorite colors blue and green.

I like changing my page often; it is a lot like my Myspace page in that you and customize the page to fit your personality. Over all I am really eager to start designing my website. I have tons of ideas in mind but I just got to learn how to apply them. I think with a little more practice on Dreamweaver I will soon be able to do all that I want and more.

Header

I have been changing the picture on my header lately. I haven't found one that I'm quite happy with yet. In some cases the image is too long or wide. to resolve that problem i have been using photoshop to alter the images to fit in with the design of the blog.

Bogger update

I have been changing a few things on my blog. I've played with color, layout, and templates. I'm still getting used to blogger. Html is confusing to me but, I'm slowly starting to get the hang of it.

Falling Leaves

The first assignment for my furniture class was to create a sculpture using a pair of wooden chopsticks and its paper sleeve.

Using my exacto blade, I started cutting the chopsticks into rectangles of varied lengths.
I glued the pieces together in triangular leaf inspired shapes.

Using sandpaper, I soften some edges of the leaves but kept some hard edges to have more abstract looking leafs.

I cut the paper sleeve into long strips of different sizes. I took the strips and wrapped them around the leaves to mimic veins.

I then took the small leaves and glued them together in a seemingly random manner to give a feel of falling leaves. With the remaining pieces of paper I cut out leaf shapes and added them to add more familiar organic shapes.

Media digital or otherwise

I make a conscience effort to be aware of whats happening in my community as well as the world around me. I use the internet as a primary source of news. Google, Yahoo, YouTube, and even Twitter are some of the websites that keep me aware of whats going on a global level. However, that being said I don't believe everything that gets posted. Apart from the web, I also watch the news on television. I prefer and trust local news stations more so than big networks. The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and The Colbert Report are my personal favorite "news" programs; mainly because of the humor aspect.

I think it is important to be in touch and conscience of what is happening in the world; not just because we are artists but because it's our responsibilities as human beings. We have to wakeup and be aware of social and global issues that are happening around us.
